A superb extended modern detached family house with lovely Southerly facing rear garden and views towards Westbere Lakes and Nature Reserve.
This excellent modern detached house was built in 1982 and has been extended by the current owners in more recent years. The property now has spacious rooms including sitting room, dining room, fitted kitchen/breakfast room, 4 bedrooms (one of which is en-suite) and a family bathroom. The owners have also added a downstairs study/bedroom with en-suite and it is thought this could become part of an annex arrangement if required. The accommodation has wood floors to many rooms as well as panelled doors, there is gas fired central heating, sealed unit double glazing and a burglar alarm system. The large rear garden is a real sun trap and there is also a detached double garage.
Grounds and Gardens: there is a good size front garden laid to lawn with a concrete car standing space. Most of the garden lies to the rear and measures approximately 85’ in length x 46’ wide and is laid mainly to lawn with trees, paved patio and timber garden shed. There is a detached double garage beyond the rear garden with two up and over doors.
Surrounding area and local amenities: Westbere is a superb quiet sought after village which has a village hall and the Ye Olde Yew Tree public house which dates from the 15th Century and is one of the oldest houses in Kent. The village is surrounded by open countryside, most of which is agricultural and has a preservation area. Westbere Lakes are close by for nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts and there are also beautiful walks nearby. There are fewer than 130 properties in the village and the nearby village of Sturry has a range of shops, Doctor and dentist surgeries, primary school and the junior King’s school. Rail links are excellent with the benefit of Sturry rail Station connecting to the high speed service through Canterbury West (London St Pancras 56 minutes) and Ashford including Eurostar services. The village is ideally placed with easy access to the coastal towns including Whitstable, Herne Bay and Margate. The Cathedral city of Canterbury with its wide range of amenities is 3.5 miles away.
